Nicole was born and raised in Chico, California. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University, School of Law in 2006. She is also proficient in written and spoken Spanish and German.

Nicole Van Rossum was admitted to the California Bar in 2006. She is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
